A Not So Scooby Doo Mystery!

It dawned on me that it’s officially mid-October. Where has this year gone? I swear it was June yesterday.

I started thinking about decorating the house for fall and putting a few Halloween things up; however, we just moved into our home and I have no idea where half of our things are, let alone the fall decorations.

There are two things I need to find. One is my Halloween “Trick-Or-Treat” candy bowl. I’m going to be honest; the minute I find that thing, I’m going to fill it with candy, put it out as a decoration and start eating the candy long before the trick-or-treaters show up. The second thing I need to find, our home defense shotgun.

Yes, yes… I know. I can hear you saying, “How in the world did you lose a shotgun? How can you not know where it is?!” Truth is, I remember it’s in the house, but I don’t know where. Don’t worry, we have other home defense firearms, but this thing is MIA and it is troubling. I just had a surprise birthday party a week ago. I had over twenty people at my house, including small children. We have searched the house over and can’t find this thing. I remember praying that one of the kids didn’t find it. Although I have to admit, if they would have stumbled across it they would have come told us (they were little girls, they are compelled to tell), I would have been glad - the mystery would have been solved and I could find something else to worry about.

But, as it stands, nobody stumbled across it and its whereabouts remain a mystery. Then the conversation came up about getting a gun safe. The firearms in our home are for home defense and concealed carry. We don’t own a great number of firearms, so what business would we have with a big, bulky gun safe? We have too much stuff as it is. I would know, I moved it all in the house! Where would we put it?
In the living room? Absolutely not. Not only do I not want that thing to be the focal point in that room, but I don’t want to advertise that we have guns and valuables to anyone and everyone that comes to our front door or happens to glance in our front window.
What about the office? Where?? There is barely enough room for the computer desk, file cabinet and a rocking chair. Try again.
Bedrooms? I don’t think so. There isn’t any room once you get the bedroom furniture in there.
Hallway? I can see it now… Explaining to the front desk at the emergency room exactly how I broke my nose or toe in the middle of the night… No.
Garage? Where in the garage?! Have you seen the dents in the side of your door from where I don’t have enough room to get out of my car and ding your car? There is no more room!

Jotto Gear has come up with one heck of a solution – The NRA® Home Defense Cabinet by Jotto Gear. This thing looks like a wall mirror. It’s designed to fit in-between your wall studs, boasts a true biometric system, locks your home defense firearms up and disguises itself as a wall mirror. BRILLIANT! It’s functional and decorative. It’s perfect for us.

What would be even more perfect is if I found our shotgun. The absolute perfect scenario is that I find my Halloween candy dish and my shotgun… They’re probably together wherever they are, that’s the way these things always seem to work out, right?
